Beary Thankful - take #2

Original

Take #2

So, here is the second take for this card. The more I looked at this card, the more I disliked the coloring on the bears' faces. I am not the best at coloring with markers and I only own a few Copics (none of which are brown) so I couldn't get the blending that I wanted. As I sat and looked at the card, I wondered is my Copic colorless blender would help any. All I have to say is WOW!! I am so much happier with this card now.  I softened the pink cheeks and was able to soften and blend the browns on the faces so much better.

3D card envelope

So I made a card (scroll down for that post) for LUFP over at Gaby Creates and when I was finished I realized something...there was NO way this card would fit into a normal envelope. So after watching a couple tutorials on how to make a box envelope I decided to venture on my own. So after a couple of trial and errors, this is what I came up with. This box is not sturdy enough to go through the mail.

I used Colorbok card stock, Cricut cart Elegant Edges for the  trim,  my Martha Stewart scoreboard and a piece of pink ribbon.
This is a side view of the box. I made it 3/4" wide so as not  to squish the flowers on the card.

If you slide the ribbon off, the box top opens and you can see the card inside.

This is a top view of the card inside the box. As you can see the flowers are not smooshed in there.

HOLY COW!!!

Scoot on over to Cuddly Buddly!!!  Kim is generously giving away 100+ free digis. Yep, you heard right FREE DIGIS!! and they are all adorable.

Joy

For this card I used the Joy sentiment from CREATE A CRITTER and welded it to a rectangle, that I sized to fit from PLANTIN SCHOOLBOOK. I then cut out the Joy sentiment again this time using  DCWV GLITTER STACK and attached it to the front of the card. Since I forgot and cut it using the blackout feature, I cut a snowflake from WINTER LACE using the DCWV WINTER COMBO stack. I finished it off with BLUE BIRD MOONDROPS that I won in a challenge. I then tied a light blue ribbon and called it good. Simple and quick card but I love the results. I think I am going to do more in different colors.
